A registered representative is a person who is appointed with full rights to act on behalf of another legal entity (e.g. Companies, Trusts, etc.), often Public Officers, Accounting Officers, or administrators, etc. If a legal entity has more than one Registered Representative, then one must be nominated as the official “representative person” and be registered with SARS

PAYE

UIF
You are required by law to register with the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) and contribute towards the fund if you have employed people for more than 24 hours per month.
The monthly contribution for UIF is two percent of your worker's gross salary per month. You must deduct one percent of your worker's gross salary per month and you as the employer contributes one percent.
u Filing is a secure Online system introduced to Employers to register employee uif , declare and pay UIF contributions. Employees can also use the system to apply for benefits such as unemployment, maternity and illness.

Workman's Compensation (COID)
You are required to cover your workers against occupational diseases, injuries and death, If your business has more than 1 employee. You are required to register with Compensation Fund to take insurance cover against your employees in the event of injuries and diseases in your workplace.
The Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, (130 of 1993), also known as The COIDA Act in South Africa, It is mandatory for all companies or individuals, who employ one or more employees, to register with the Workman’s Compensation Fund within 7 working days from the date of employment.
As of 10 March 2021, all South African households who employ Domestic workers, Gardeners, Nannies, Caregivers and Drivers etc. Are also required to register for COID at the workers compensation fund.
The Compensation Fund covers an employee who is:
•permanently employed.
• a domestic worker in a boarding house
• an apprentice or trainee farm worker, and a worker paid by a labour agency.
Upon Registration and submitting the ROE (Return Of Earnings)
a "Notice of Assessment" is recieved. This is payable to Workmans Compensation in order to cover your business with Workmans Compensation. A Letter of Good Standing will then be available for your business.
